Heirloom Market BBQ

When I was visiting Atlanta, I made sure to have some real good and legit bbq.  After researching, I decided to go to Heirloom Market BBQ.  Wow, this place was packed, which only meant I made the right choice!  I ordered the “must have” (according to the lady at the register) – Korean BBQ Pork Sandwich and that was REALLY good!  It was spicy, the cole slaw was made with kimchi sauce, but it went well with the mac-n-cheese.  Wish I can go back for lunch today!

Went to Deetjens with my parents and Miss V on a chilly morning for some country style breakfast.  Perhaps it was the friendly atmosphere or maybe the smell of food, we felt like we were visiting a friend’s home and we were all in such good mood.  My parents ordered some egg dishes, Miss V loved her buttermilk pancakes (very fluffy!) and I had the turkey dip; everything was delicious!  Before we left, we ordered some warmed banana bread for the road – best thing ever!

One of the things I enjoy doing while traveling is getting up at dawn and explore places until sunrise.  It is the most peaceful and magical time.

I normally travel for work by myself, but this time I took my parents and Miss V with me and it was one of the best trips I’ve had this year!  My father, who’s also a photographer, went with me on this sunrise tour.  We drove from Monterey, CA. to Carmel, CA., then drove back on a different route.  Whenever we saw an interesting spot we’d stop on the side of the road and snap a few photos, that was a lot of fun.  Looking at the photos again makes me miss that morning…

Stay tuned for tomorrow, I’ll let you know a good breakfast spot in Carmel, CA.
