The Hart and The Hunter has quickly became one of my favorite restaurants in LA.  From the decor, chefs/staff to, of course, the food, everything reminds me of home – cozy and laid back.  Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or dinner, be sure to order their Shaved Brussel Sprout & Cabbage Salad and Butter Biscuits (mmm… biscuits….).

Heard great things about this new restaurant, owned by Marta Teegen and Robert Stelzner, and had to stop by to check it out.  The restaurant decor is simple and cozy, I love that the owners decided on having just two long communal tables and a bar.  Miss V thought their chandelier was cool looking.

Miss V and I ordered three things – Chorizo with Egg, Merguez Sausage Flatbread with Yogurt Sauce and Persimmon Pudding.  All were very good, but Miss V highly recommended the pudding.

Gordon Ramsay opened a new restaurant at The Grove called, The Fat Cow – think comfort British food.  My friend, Lauryl, and I met up for lunch there and we both agreed we’ll return for more (especially the Lobster Mac-n-Cheese!).  We ordered Salted Caramel Milkshake, Brussel Sprouts with Bacon, Fish & Chips and Shepherd’s Pie; everything turned out great!  Love that the restaurant is right next to the theater, makes it easy to grab a bite before and/or after the movie.

I spent the past few weeks driving around L.A. and taste tested many tamales.  I’m not an expert, but these are my top picks base on taste and service.
